Ruth Sinclair

Ruth Sinclair joined the Fathers For Families Board in 2023, bringing with her a wealth of experience in financial management, strategic planning, and business systems development. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Ruth`s career has been with Coopers & Lybrand in Manukau for sometime, where she specialised in tax planning, management reporting, and the implementation of financial systems for a diverse client base.

With a strong foundation in accounting and corporate advisory services, Ruth has since transitioned into a consultancy role, contracting to businesses across various sectors. Her current focus lies in the development and optimisation of management and information systems, financial reporting structures, and strategic business analysis.

Ruth’s analytical expertise and systems thinking are a valuable asset to Fathers For Families, supporting robust governance, data-informed decision-making, and sustainable organisational growth. Her commitment to excellence and integrity aligns strongly with the kaupapa of FFF and its mission to restore mana and build legacy within whanau and communities.

TONY TUMAI

Tony Tumai is a dedicated family man and a deeply committed community leader. Together with his partner of 36 years, Donna, he is a proud parent and grandparent. For over two decades, Tony and his whanau have been active, respected members of the Papakura community, where family values and community service are at the heart of their lives.

Of Maori descent, Tony holds strong whakapapa ties to Ngāti Mahuta, connecting him directly to Waikato Tainui. These ancestral roots underpin his profound sense of responsibility to the people of the region, particularly those in Tāmaki Makaurau. This deep connection to whanau and whenua forms the foundation of his extensive public service.

Tony has devoted more than 20 years to serving Aotearoa New Zealand, including a distinguished 22-year career with the New Zealand Police, complemented by extensive voluntary leadership across the community. Known for his integrity, compassion, and results-focused leadership, he continues to hold a number of pivotal governance and community roles.

He currently serves as Chair of Papakura Franklin Blue Light and as a member of the New Zealand Blue Light Executive Board, championing positive youth development nationwide. His commitment to community well-being is further demonstrated in his role as National Lead for the RRT Food Box Program and as an executive board member for Papakura Marae, Family Success Matters, and Fathers For Families. In addition, he serves as Deputy Chair of the SAMER+ (South Asian Middle Eastern Refugees) Group, working to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and public safety.

Grounded in whakapapa and proven through decades of action, Tony’s leadership continues to inspire and contribute to building a stronger, more connected, and resilient future for the communities he serves.

Colleen Fakalogotoa

Chief Executive Officer, Fathers For Families

Colleen Fakalogotoa brings over four decades of leadership and frontline experience in community health and early intervention to her role as Chief Executive Officer of Fathers For Families (FFF). Holding a Master of Health Management and a Diploma in Business from the University of Auckland, along with a Certificate in Economics from Victoria University, Colleen’s academic and professional journey has been deeply rooted in advancing wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable families across South Auckland and beyond.

A founding force behind the establishment of Family Start Manukau (later Family Success Matters) in 2005, Colleen has played a pivotal role in shaping early intervention and prevention services in Aotearoa. Under her leadership, programmes such as Family Start, The Incredible Years parenting programme, and the Fathers For Families initiative have flourished—serving thousands of whanau with a workforce of approximately 60 dedicated staff.

Colleen began her career in 1978 as a Plunket Nurse and has remained a tireless advocate for whanau wellbeing, with a lifelong commitment to the health, empowerment, and transformation of families. Now as CEO of Fathers For Families, she continues to lead with vision and heart, embedding cultural integrity, community-driven values, and system-level impact into every aspect of the organisation’s mahi.

Of Irish and English descent, Colleen is married to Joseph (of Niuean heritage) and is a proud mother of two adult children and grandmother to three mokopuna. Her lived experience, cultural awareness, and passion for people are central to her leadership, making FFF not only a place of professional excellence but a truly meaningful place to work and serve.
