More Than Just a Jacket
Last week, Fathers For Families received an unexpected and generous call from Siu, Manager of Johnny Bigg Onehunga, inviting us to collect a donation of jackets for our men.
When we arrived, we were blown away to be presented with nine boxes of jackets—enough to support many of our current participants, as well as some of the fathers who have previously walked through our programmes.
To some, it may simply look like clothing. But to the men we serve, a quality jacket can mean so much more.
It can restore confidence.
It can help a father feel seen and valued.
It can give a man something suitable to wear to a job interview, an important meeting, court, church, or a special day with his tamariki.
This generous act reminds our fathers that their past does not have to define their future—and that there are people and businesses within our community who genuinely believe in their journey of change.
A heartfelt thank you to Siu and the team at Johnny Bigg Onehunga for seeing our men, supporting our kaupapa, and wrapping practical generosity around our FFF whanau.
These jackets will not only provide warmth during the colder months—they will carry a message.
